Dogs and Skunks = BAD

I housesit for two adorable dogs. They have a dog door so I don't notice too much when they are in or out. Last night I was eating dinner when I noticed the one dog "Latke" had been outside for a long time. All of a sudden my dad and I smelled the awful smell of skunk. I called Latke in right away and while he didn't smell like roadkill skunk, he smelled gross.

I called their owner and asked what to do. He gave me the name of his groomer. I called today and gee, they are closed on Monday. I have to live with a stinky dog for another day. Hopefully I can drop off Latke first thing tomorrow morning. I feel sorry for the little guy!

  1. I hope the smell doesn't get into the house. Where does the dog sleep?

  2. The dog sleeps wherever he wants to. I can't control him LOL

There are fans going in every room of the house.

  3. TOMATO JUICE. Go out and buy gallons of it. That's what you need to wash the dog with (use soap too, of course). Then rinse with more tomato juice and finally regular water.

  5. Becca ~ Thanks for stopping by! I love meeting new blog friends! Unfortunately, I have no idea what to do with a dog that has been skunked! You poor thing! Good luck!

  6. Becca, a groomer can certainly handle it as long as you can stand the waiting. ;o)
