Quotable Sunday - #3

Toni at A Daily Dose of Toni hosts Quotable Sunday each Sunday. I am currently petsitting a dog and a cat so I decided to do quotes about animals today.

"Don't accept your dog's admiration as conclusive evidence that you are wonderful."
-Ann Landers

"The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated."
-Gandhi

"The average dog is a nicer person than the average person."
―Andrew A. Rooney

"Did you ever walk into a room and forget why you walked in? I think that is how dogs spend their lives."
-Sue Murphy

"Outside of a dog, a book is probably man's best friend; inside of a dog, it's too dark to read."
―Groucho Marx

"Thousands of years ago, cats were worshiped as gods. Cats have never forgotten this."
-Anonymous

"If you pick up a starving dog and make him prosperous, he will not bite you; that is the principal difference between a dog and a man."
-Mark Twain

"I loathe people who keep dogs. They are cowards who haven't got the guts to bite people themselves."
-August Strindberg

Now it's your turn :)

  1. I enjoyed these quotes, being a dog person myself, we had trouble with the cat one wanting to stil be worshiped, but otherwise, we enjoyed the other ones (we being me and Koda, my silly corgi pup)

thanks for visiting our journal; I was very thankful to God for my new position opening up so quickly :)

I like your blog, was reading some of your other entries, I'll be back when I can :)

  2. Dogs go into rooms to get a rub down or to get food. Those are the only necessary rooms to them :)

  3. These are great. And I like what Gandhi said about the way animals are treated and how it relates to a country.

    Thanks for sharing.

  17. What a great meme. I haven't run across this one yet. I enjoyed this one the most I think, "Thousands of years ago, cats were worshiped as gods. Cats have never forgotten this."

It is so true based from what I know about my previous cats. :)
