Welcome to this week’s edition of Aloha Friday. Thanks to Kailani at An Island Life for starting this fun for Friday. I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response. If you’d like to participate, just post your own question on your blog . Please be sure to head over to her blog to say hello and sign the Mr. Linky there if you are participating.
My question is:
What do you suggest to plant in a "garden"?
We have a large patch of assorted shrubs (it looks like someone scattered a variety of seeds...super ugly) and we are thinking of ripping it up to plant something.
I have thought of azaleas, roses and tulips.

This year we planted a bunch of Lily Plants and some Daffodils. Sad to say I think the bunny in the neighborhood got several of the bulbs up and they are gone. Still highly recommend since they are otherwise easy to grow.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on the tulips and roses. I love both.
ReplyDeleteFinding different plants that bloom at different times makes your garden seem ever-blooming and you'll have flowers constantly!
ReplyDeleteActually there are alot of plants available that flower continously so there are quite a number of options and color schemes available! I'd go check out a local plant nursery and see what grows well in your area!
Tulips are my all-time favorite flowers. I adore them! At my parents' house we had star jasmine in the front yard. They smell heavenly in the evenings and are easy to care for.
ReplyDeleteLove to receive roses as a gift but hated having them in a garden. Hate the thorns. Love the azaleas idea & the tulips too. Had both of those once upon a time. Both are beautiful. Head down to your nursery & check out what they have. You might have a blast growing tons of different things.
ReplyDeleteVegetables :)
ReplyDeleteHow about tulips? They're my favorite flower. :-)
ReplyDeleteI have a black thumb so I'm not any help here. Sorry! :)
ReplyDeleteI love Tulips and do those but daffodils are so pretty and I have always wanted to plant those. I also to a variety of lilies in differnt spots around the house.
ReplyDeleteI like tulips and roses.
ReplyDeleteAll things that attract butterflies and hummingbirds.
ReplyDeleteI say lilies and ranunculus.. they are just adorable!
ReplyDeleteAloha Friday!

Oh I would love to help. However I have a black thumb, you truly do not want my advise.
ReplyDeleteAny flower that is colorful but also only lightly fragranced.
ReplyDeleteI love sunflowers. They grow tall though.
ReplyDeleteSunflowers and morning glories are my favorite.
ReplyDeleteRosemary. It grows really tall and thick and you can cut some off for cooking.
ReplyDeleteIf I started a garden I'd plant vegetables and herbs!
ReplyDeleteI've never had a garden before but I like geraniums. :)
ReplyDeleteI can offer no help here. We pulled up our ugly roses to plant something else this year and now all I have are weeds. Garden fail!
ReplyDeleteI love lilies, tulips, bleeding heart, peony and well lots of others. There are so many great plants out there. Some of the garden catalogs have suggested garden designs in them if you want help selecting plants that go together well.
ReplyDeleteWell, I'm not the gardening type, but if I was, I'd plant fruits and veggies, I think. Maybe some flowers too.
ReplyDeleteI am the wrong person to ask! But thanks for stopping by my blog today!
ReplyDeleteTulips and roses sound great to me! But I do love growing things I can eat, too.
ReplyDeleteRoses will always be the perfect choice!
ReplyDeleteHope to participate this meme next week. Thanks for sharing dear! :)
I like azaleas and day lilies. Easy to maintain. Good luck with your gardening. Thanks for your comment. I didn't have Tinker Toys. Aloha and take care.
