Aloha Friday #26 / Friday Follow

Welcome to this week’s edition of Aloha Friday. Thanks to Kailani at An Island Life for starting this fun for Friday. I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response. If you’d like to participate, just post your own question on your blog . Please be sure to head over to her blog to say hello and sign the Mr. Linky there if you are participating.

Yay, 2 weeks in a row!  I am going to Minden, Nevada    Boise, Idaho   and Washington, DC  in the next 2 months.  My question this week is: What should I do while I'm there?  And if you haven't been to any of those places before, what is another place you would suggest I visit?

I'm also taking part in Friday Follow.  Please follow my blog and leave a link so I can follow yours.  Thanks to One 2 Try, Hearts Make Families, and Midday Escapades.

  1. I absolutely love Washington, DC! I lived there for a brief period of time and it was wonderful. If you like dancing, clubs, and eclectic restaurants, go to Adams Morgan. It's a cool area to see even if you don't go to a club! One of my favorite mexican restaurants, a little hole in the wall, used to be there. Dupont Circle, the notably gay area of DC, is also an awesome place to go. There are some great shops and food, too. Try something different- go to an ethiopian restaurant while you are there. It's definitely worth a visit. Many asian restaurants are delicious, too, and much more authentic than smaller cities. All of the museums are great, too. Natural History, Art, and the Holocaust Museums are must-sees if you are around that area! :) Have a great time and try out the metro to get around. It's super easy and cheap. I'm jealous. Haven't been in a while and am dying to go back.

  2. I've been to Washington D.C. and loved it! I'd recommend the National
Zoo, Bureau of Engraving and Printing, National Archives Building, Lincoln Memorial, Union Station, Great Falls Park,

  4. Take in as many of the museums as you can while in DC. I've never heard of Minden, Nv but my Hubby is from Boise. It's been waaaayyyy too many years since we've been there. Like around 15. Wish you luck!

  10. There is so much to see and do in Washington DC. I would make sure to see the monuments, try to sign up for a White House tour (may be too late for that now), and figure out which if any museums you would like to go to. I have not been in a LONG time and want to go to the Smithsonian and Holocaust Museums when I get back. Have a wonderful trip.

  11. I have not been to either of those locations. I would suggest taking LOTS of pictures and take a guided tour of something.

  12. I love going to DC. I think you should make sure you visit the monuments. You can walk all over to see them. I am not a big fan of the Smithsonians so I don't even bother anymore. They take up so much time. There is so much in DC to see and so little time.

  13. I've never been to any of those places but in the States, my suggestions would be Savannah, GA and Boston. Outside the states, Greece was fabulous!

  27. I don't know what you should do. I would suggest just doing things you enjoy.

  28. Nevada is great, I really only know Vegas stuff. I would say that the show at the Excalibur is fun, eat with your hands, and watch knights, kings, and such all at 1 price. The carnival game area of Circus Circus is fun. And my wife has said that so far the best mac & cheese she had was at the Harley-Davidson Cafe.
Also I would recommend Colorado, beautiful and if you want there are lots of parties going on. There are tons of restaurants that are amazing!
