Aloha Friday #27

Welcome to this week’s edition of Aloha Friday. Thanks to Kailani at An Island Life for starting this fun for Friday. I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response. If you’d like to participate, just post your own question on your blog . Please be sure to head over to her blog to say hello and sign the Mr. Linky there if you are participating.

My question this week is: When grocery shopping, do you purposely add perishable items to your cart last?  Do you put them away first when you get home?

My mom taught me to do both, so I always have.  I was amazed last weekend at my grandparents' house when they asked for my help to put away barely cold items like yogurt and milk.

I don't know if I purposely do that although it does tend to work out that way - I do tend to get ice cream last and put it away first.

No...I purposely add soft breakable/smooshable things to my cart last (like eggs and chips and bread). But I do try to group perishables together so they'll end up in the same bag and I can put them away first when I get home.

I am so bad, I tend to do produce first, but I do put it away first. It really would make more sense to do that isle last!

I love your blog, I'm a follower now!

I have my groceries delivered due to having a disability with my back, but put away all refrigerated items first.

I guess. I try to keep things separate in the cart. Like meats together, the breads on top etc. And I try to get the refrigerated things put away asap.

Hope you have a great night :)

Yes! We always try to do that. I saw on the news that by the time you put the cold stuff in your cart until you get home, no more than 20 minutes should lapse to keep the food safe.

I never really thought about it. I just make my way through the grocery store but I think we do put up the cans last.
