I haven't read a ton of books by Sophie Kinsella, but "My (not so) Perfect Life" was on display at the library and sounded good, so I gave it a try. It is about a woman around my age who lives in England and pretends to have a perfect life. Her facade kind of unravels as the book goes on, but it is nice to get to know the real her instead of the person she pretends to be. Reading this book made me want to read more books by Sophie Kinsella.
"The Apartment" by Danielle Steel was a typical book by her, but I absolutely loved it. It is about 4 friends who share an apartment in Hell's Kitchen in New York. I love the friendships and romances in her books. It didn't hurt that the characters in the book were all right around the same age as me.
I have 5 more library books sitting on my dresser waiting to be read, so be ready for more book reviews/recommendations!

Hi Becca - they sound good reads - Danielle Steel's book I imagine would take you along, while Sophie Kinsella has started out her publishing career with high recommendations, while Paula Day I haven't heard of - but obviously good too ... enjoy your reading - cheers Hilary
I think I've read a Sophie Kinsella book--way back in the chick lit days, I believe? I can't remember if I enjoyed it or not, though! As for Danielle Steel...OMG! I haven't read one of her books since the 80s. I remember loading up on her when I was a teenager, but eventually it started to feel like every book was the same. I'd dropped her and moved on to writers like Nora Roberts and Sandra Brown by the mid-90s.
I love to read too. I've got a book going all the time. It's a wonderful way to get lost into somewhere else.
Have a fabulous day. ☺
I had no idea Sophie Kinsella had a new one?! I love her and I have read all of her other books.
My oldest son Mica has his head stuck in a book. My younger one is starting to get there. I enjoy reading, but I blog, paint, teach art, am a Mom, cook almost all my meals, so I run out of time.
I am so happy that you've really been enjoying reading lately! I haven't read any of these books before, but I have heard such great things about Sophie Kinsella and all her humor in her novels, so I am glad you could enjoy that one so much :D My mum loves Danielle Steel as well :3
Hello, I am very familiar with Danielle Steele's books. The first one by Sophie Kinsella sounds interesting. I will see if my library has it on their ebook list. Enjoy your day and weekend!
They all sound interesting...I haven't found time to read a book in ages!
Ones that make you want to read more by the other are sure a win indeed!
I love Sophie Kinsella books! I haven't read a book by Danielle Steel in a long time, I should add one to my tbr list again :)
I like the sound of My (not so) Perfect Life :)
I really need to get back into reading...these are great suggestions and a little motivation too!
