Weird Finger Thing

So twice in the last month or so after showering...I have gotten weird white marks on some of my fingers.  The first time it happened, I thought I was crazy.  The second time it happened, I took pictures.

The bottom picture is the same picture as the top finger...like 30 minutes later.  Does anyone have any idea what it could be?????

Not to frighten you (at least not to the point of wetting your pants), but since it always seems to appear after showering, do you think it might be fungal? (<-- Sorry about THAT creepy word.) Maybe you should get it checked out, you wouldn't want it to affect your fingernails. It also looks like what happens if you peeled an orange with chappy hands. Do you eat fruit while you hose off? Just kidding! Sorry, again. It's a good idea that you've taken pictures, in case it isn't so active/visible when you go to have it examined.

In the meantime, it couldn't hurt to use this home remedy: Apple Cider Vinegar-- it's good at fighting the BIG "F". The fastest way to get rid of fingernail fungus is vinegar mixed with a 3% hydrogen peroxide. The mixture is fifty/fifty. Apply it with a dropper. (The skin might feel pinchy, but that's okay.) Follow the application with a soak in smitch of Clorox bleach.(Use one cap for half glass of water and submerge affected area for about a minute.) I know it sounds even stranger, but religiously coating the "white" with Vick's Vapor rub can help, too. The idea is to nip it in the bud PRONTO.

I didn't mean to upset you with all this (I got my medical degree from Sears and Roebuck, for what it's worth.), but if it is a fungus, you truly won't be sorry you went to the doctor, as this condition can be a nasty bear to get rid of.

My fingers are crossed that it turns out to be none of the above.

I have had white spots like those on my finger from 1) using peroxide and 2) from a fungal infection before. It is worth getting looked at, especially if it turns out to be fungal.

i agree with jessica, it looks like a fungal infection. i started getting raw patches on the back of my hands during pregnancy and they are still there. i get it when i use hand sanitizer, it's real weird.

I just discoverd your bloggy and came across this post and thought I'd chime in!! :) I've had this before when I was using peroxide. I thought immediately maybe you used some hydrogen peroxide? My finger looks like yours if I get it on my skin and it does last for several days if I remember right.

I'm glad you thought to take pictures and ask for help. But it is kinda funny that you'd think to do that.
